Vacation Postcard Style Wedding Save the Date

I just finished my sister’s wedding save the date. I recommended using postcards for her save the date so she has a bigger budget to spend on the actual invitation. My inspiration for the design was vintage postcards. I thought it would be fun to have a colorful, vacation style design,  since she is having a destination wedding in Florida.

For the back of the postcard, I used a more traditional one color approach. I carried over the wedding cake image to the back of the postcard as well.

Herman Maril at the Walters Art Museum

Last weekend I saw Herman Maril: An American Modernist at the Walters Art Museum. Maril, a gifted painter from Baltimore, edited his compositions down to the most essential elements. His beautiful seascapes feature rich colors that create eye-catching juxtapositions. I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibit and I recommend seeing it before it closes on August 30.
